(More customer reviews)This camera is not wireless and uses a wire. I chose this camera because of the wire since I had read that some of the 2.4ghz cameras are prone to occasional interferance. A lot of consumer gadgets share the same frequency. This camera was used with the BOYO rear view mirror 6 inch monitor ([...]). The mirror monitor clips over your existing mirror. It's a good match and the price with the mirror/monitor is much cheaper ([...]) than the version sold as a wireless combo ([...]). The camera has a suprizingly good picture with very good color and pretty good low light sensitivity. The only disadvantage of the wire is having to run wire through the car to the front. I read elsewhere that the wireless version of this camera (the housing looks identical to this one)does not weather well. The other reviewer(at Crutchfield) said the chrome dulls and flakes and the set screws rust but the camera continued to work fine. We'll see how it weathers. If it dulls I'll just paint it the same color as the car. I also read somewhere that a person had problems with the little white connector that ties the camera to long wire that is run to the front. I cut the connectors off and soldered the three wires together.

(More customer reviews)Bought this camera for my Honda Odyssey and it is connected to a Pioneer AVH 3200BT head unit. The camera is wonderful in all lighting situations. My van's reverse lights provide enough ambient light for a clear nighttime video. The quality of the video itself is great and beats my expectations. I was expecting a grainy picture that was just clear enough to make out what was behind when backing out on our driveway (We have kids & pets running around all time and wanted to prevent any unfortunate accidents). But this camera far surpasses that and provide a crystal clear picture.
However, the installation is not as clean as I would have hoped. I got it installed at Best Buy and the technician did not use the included hex bolts because he complained "there is no way I can use them on the van without drilling some holes". I am not technically inclined and took him at this word. I plan to investigate a little further and fix this issue. Currently the camera is installed with the original license plate bolts, with the bottom two holes being open.
Overall, I would highly recommend this backup camera for clarity & build quality. Will update this review on its durability after a couple of months.
