(More customer reviews)Usually, I am not one for artist-endorsed products, but the GaGa Monster Heartbeats in-ear headphones looked so fab from pictures that I decided to check them out in real. For starters, the box looked really stylish and the headphones are placed in yet another black box which is magnetically latched. Once opened, you will see the bright chrome and white cables with the matching protective pouch. Once taken out, the headphones feel sturdy and the cables are truly tangle-free and every bit the trademark of Monster cables.
Now, beauty aside. The sound is amazing and it should be for it costs almost US$170 here than in the US. Once I picked the ear buds of the correct size, everything else is secondary. I connected the earphones to my iPhone and there was so much clarity and bass pumping from them at even 3/4 of the volume slider. I could hear almost all the background instrumentation and effects. More importantly, all surrounding ambient noise is cut off almost entirely.

Pros:
The bass. It's crazy. I love it. Has to be the best I've ever heard with in ear headphones
ControlTalk is great to answer the phone, music control, and controlling the volume
The flat wires are nice too
A lot of ear buds to select from
Great to exercise with
Cons:
The weight can cause discomfort from time to time
The shape and size of the headphones make them a little uncomfortable at times
The deal breaker:
The volume control stopped working. I've done some research and I do not appear to be alone with this problem. Sure they come with a one year warranty but what good is it if they can break in under two months. I am not rough on my headphones and I do not expect failure this soon. I just filled out my RMA so I hope the next pair hold up better.....

(More customer reviews)First off, I own several pairs of headphones, both in ear and over ear, and the iBeats are above and beyond anything I've used. The first step was finding the right fit (of the 7 tips included, I found 2 that fit perfectly, one regular mold, and the other the "Airlock" style). The standard tips are a snug fit, and allow the bass to hit fairly hard. I have a pair of Koss in ear headphones, and the Bass does hit harder, but the iBeats bass is much cleaner. The "Airlock" style tips fit snug as well, and I found that while in my ears, they were comfortable, but after long periods of wear, after removing them there was some slight pain. I also own a pair of Skullcandy Hesh over ears, and the iBeats again sound better than the Skullcandies. While I would recommend the Hesh to anyone on a budget looking for good sound for your money, I would recommend iBeats as well to anyone that can afford them. The ControlTalk feature is nice for the iBeats as well, and I've had no complaints from anyone on the other end of my phone. If I had one complaint it would have to be that the ControlTalk on cable volume and music control feature does not work on the iPhone 3G, but I recently upgraded to the iPhone 4 and cannot complain about that now. The thing I can't give enough praise about is the noise cancellation. iBeats block out almost all outside sound, and you dont have to jack the volume up extremely high to do it. Simply put, it is excellent. All in all, these are the best sounding ear buds I've ever heard, and I would not hesitate to recommend them to friend or family.

(More customer reviews)They sound amazing! I'm still having some trouble with finding the appropriate eartip for me, but overall there is not much of a problem with them falling out of my ears. The ControlTalk is very useful, and works great, although it is somewhat bulky, that is understandable considering the size and shape of the cable. So far they have been very durable, I have been using them about a month, and there are still no scratches on the glossy parts, which is impressive, considering I got some orange paint on one of them and had to scratch it off and never put them in their case. They look great, and I have gotten a few complements on them. Overall, great purchase, and I highly recommend getting these, especially since I couldn't justify paying the price for one of the earlier pairs that did not have the ControlTalk, I had just gotten too accustomed to using the "remote" on the earphones that come with the iPod.

(More customer reviews)I've held out for awhile purchasing these earphones because they had no mic (I'm well aware you can buy adapters to add a mic to any headphone, but I figured it's more to carry and it'd probably look ugly). It's about time they've came out with the, "Control Talk" version of this pair. I've tested the microphone, and I was surprised how clear it sounds! The earphone itself is such a unique and fun design (by the way, I've always thought it's alot bigger then what it actually is...it's quite small and cute for the triangle design), aside that I am a huge Lady Gaga fan!
I've read some reviews saying that it doesn't fit all that well and can be uncomfortable (but watch out! if it is uncomfortable it could be a fake too...more info at the end of this review) maybe it's a personal opinion, but they are very comfy for me. Monster supplies you with 5 pairs of ear bud sizes and I found a great fit for my ears. The sound quality is great (I could tell the difference between my $50 Sony ear buds compared to these) and having a case with it to protect these pricey things are a definite plus!
More info about the ControlTalk (aside of the built in mic for phones), you can:
* Answer or end a call
* Decline an incoming call
* Use call waiting
* Play or pause a song or video
* Skip to the next or previous song/chapter
* Scan forward or backward through a song or video
* Control the volume
(The $15 adapter I was thinking about buying for the non-ControlTalk version of Heartbeats so I could have a microphone, definitely can't do ALL those features! Such as scanning, call waiting, or skipping to the next song.)
I'm sure the ControlTalk information you can find elsewhere too, but hopefully I saved the trouble of some people trying to research it themselves. :)
All in all, it's a great and wonderful product and I'm very satisfied. Money well spent for me.
P.S. Beware of the FAKE Heartbeats! They look VERY identical (packaging/headphones/everything) but the easiest way to spot the difference compared to the authentic ones is that they do NOT come with 5 ear bud pairs (1 including what's already on the headphones itself, fake ones usually come with 3), though unfortunately some fake Heartbeats do come with 5 pairs. They are noticeably uncomfortable for many and of course not much of a sound quality difference.
A bad review (she said it was very uncomfortable) for the Heartbeats I found came to the fact that the person who bought it, spent about $65 online thinking it was a good deal but she ended up getting a fake one (someone else on the forum I read asked how many pairs of earbuds did she get and she said 3)!
