Boss CAP35 35 Farad Capacitor Review

I just purchased your CAP35 from Amazon.com. S/N 10044600198. Upon receipt, I decided to check the capacitor on the bench before actually installing in a vehicle. I am baffled by the results when charging the capacitor. With the included 50 ohm resistor it only took a few minutes to get to the supply's 12v output. With a 35 Farad capacitor I expected the classic capacitor charge curve to hold true - T(sec)=C(35)xR(50) equaling 1750 seconds to get to 1TC of 7.584 volts - 29 MINUTES! It only took a couple minutes, telling me that I have only maybe a 3-5 Farad capacitor! Please explain. What is wrong? How do I really get 35 Farad?
Please explain!
Their lame response was simply "We have tested a couple of CAP35 and it does take a couple of minutes to fully charge.".
This is NOT a true 35 Farad capacitor unit that would operate at the rated 16 volts, as per my above description. In my opinion the Car Audio Industry is a very dishonest industry in this regard. Buyer beware!

Only to say that if you want a radio on your bike you have to get this to make it work or you are S O L. the wires have a hard time fitting the Midland GXT1000VP4 and they disable the VOX ability in any radio. If the VOX feature could still work then these would get 3 or 4 stars. Also I think the price a little too high for an item that is necessary to equip a radio to a motorcycle.

PIAA 2190 2100X Xtreme White Lamp Kit Review

Strengths: Decent light output with included H3 Xtreme White bulbs. Fits 1500XT brackets with a little work.
Weaknesses: Less focused beam pattern than 1500XT units.
Details: After my wife backed into my truck and destroyed my 1500XT's, I bought & installed the PIAA 2100-series fog lights, PIAA part no. 2190. Fairly easy install if you already have PIAA brackets in place. The 1500XT brackets will fit the 2100's with a little outward bending (the 2100 lamps are a bit wider in back). I'm not quite sure why PIAA just doesn't make standardized bracket widths -- you'd think this would reduce their production costs. Wiring harnesses are standardized, thank goodness, so no rewiring. Right away I could tell that the beam pattern is significantly less focused than the 1500XT -- there's more scatter upwards and downwards. I could actually see some of the beam pattern hitting the top of my garage door with the lights properly oriented and aimed. Beam pattern within the "bar" of focused light was also less consistent. I'll enter a followup review once I put the lights through some real-life testing. Don't know if the scatter issue will be significant. And I'll probably switch to some ion crystal bulbs eventually.
11/13/2010 Update: After 2 months of use, I'll raise my initial review to 3 1/2 stars. My comment re: less focused beam pattern still holds -- when you're in a garage/tunnel, you can see light patterns on the ceiling. However, in real life outdoor applications you don't notice it. The fog lights nicely fill in the dead spot below your low beams and increase sideways coverage as well.

Brother HL-5240 High-Speed Desktop Office Laser Printer Review

(More customer reviews)Just unpacked and set up the printer. Initial results on 8 1/2 x 11 sheets are great. Excellent quality, good speed, setup went without a hitch.
Unfortunately, no matter what I do it mangles #10 envelopes fed through the manual feeder. I believe I've tried all the pertinent thickness settings in the driver, including envelopes, envelope thin, envelope thick, etc. Every envelope comes out badly wrinkled. The envelopes are ordinary Staples #10s, which I've used without much trouble in a Laserjet5 for years (the heat in that printer does glue the flap a bit, but just lightly. I'm debating returning the Brother HL-5240. The online FAQs from Brother seem completely useless, as they mostly repeat the manual's instructions for inserting the envelopes.
Anyone have ideas on getting around this? Are there special envelopes that will work?
If you don't need envelopes, I'd give this **** or maybe even ***** based on just a few hours use. For envelopes, it doesn't even rate one star, and that makes me nervous about the overall quality.
**UPDATE***: I've managed to get at least some envelopes to print cleanly. Thanks to the comments posted by John Bissel on the HL-5250, as those led me in the right direction. Anyway, what's worked for me is:
* Office Depot sells some #10 envelopes under their own brand name that are specifically listed as working with laser and inkjet printers.
I found those wrinkle a lot less than the many other #10s I tried.
* Use the com-10 size and envelope-thin media.
* Here's the tricky part. Those two fixes get you close, but there's still a bit of a wrinkle on the trailing edge. Thanks to Mr. Bissel, I found the secret pressure release flippers in the back of the printer. Yes they are documented. No, they are not mentioned under envelopes, or in the general guides to the printers features. No they're not in the printed documentation. You have to go into the PDF user guide that gets installed along with the printer (use the Windows Start/Programs to find it). Then you have to look in the troubleshooting section under crinkled pages or some such. Then you find the flippers. It warns you to fip them up only for envelopes, then down, which would be a huge hassel. Like Mr. Bissel, I've had fine luck leaving them up all the time. Perhaps my output on regular pages is a tad less dark.
So, now I'm happy. Printer is great. I should say that I sent a query to Brother's email-based support service. They promise response in 1 business day. It's been 4 days, and so far I've heard nothing.

Z-Line Keira 55-Inch W TV Stand Review

WE wanted a nice TV stand, but nothing that would leave us broke and wondering why we made the decision... :) - The Z-Line fit the bill. It was used for our 46" Sharp Aquos, which is piano black but blends in nicely with this stand being that the shelves are all glass.
It took us about 20 minutes to assemble the stand and put it in place. All of the necessary hardware was included and clearly marked which makes it gain super high marks. Usually when buying furniture that you have to assemble..its like putting a car engine together. The manual, the screws, the parts, were all labeled to perfection and thus I highly recommend this product.
Amazon used FEDEX to ship it and the driver did need help bringing in to the house. The BOX is quite large and quite heavy due to the glass. Z-Line did a great job in packaging and thus there was NO damage what so ever to the package.

Quick EDIT: The top shelf can hold a TV up to 150lbs and the other two shelves a total weight of 65lbs each.

I really like having the bills separate from the coins now, plus a couple of slots for cards I need to carry at work. The pen is a little hard to hold in my arthritic fingers but for jotting down a short note it's fine. There is even a pocket on the front of the wallet that I quickly found a use for. Being such a klutz, I carry band-aids all the time. That was the ideal spot for a few. The wallet fits great in my pants pocket, staying flat, unlike the old coin purse. I'd recommend this wallet for anyone, man or woman.
