(More customer reviews)About 8 months ago, I bought this RAM for a customer who wanted a computer with DDR3-2000 RAM in it. I ordered a kit, and when I opened the box, one of the sticks fell apart (the RAM heat sinks fell off). Thankfully, I was able to RMA it and buy a replacement kit. I installed it, and then I went in the BIOS and selected the XMP profile for this RAM. I booted into Windows, and so far, so good. But, when I started running stress tests, I kept getting a BSOD. I go back into the BIOS, and I clock the RAM down to 1333mhz to see if the RAM is the problem. I then stress tested it again, and absolutely no problems. This RAM appears to be incapable of running at 2000mhz, which is very disappointing (on an ASUS Rampage II Gene, a board that is more than capable of running RAM at 2000mhz). The best I got was 1700mhz. I gave my customer a discount because he needed the computer quick.
3 weeks later, I get a call from him, and he told me the RAM fell apart...again. He mailed it to me, and I sent it to SuperTalent again for RMA. I instructed them to mail the replacement directly to my customer so he would get it as soon as possible. 3 weeks later, I get a smashed in box with a replacement RAM kit. Most RAM RMA's usually only take about 1 week. Thankfully, the RAM was just fine, but I had to repackage it and mail it again.
I'm never buying any products from SuperTalent again, especially since I've gotten 2 defective kits, time consuming RMA's, and an inability of understanding simple instructions. Just about anything else would be better.
Computer Setup:
Intel Core i7 975
6GB SuperTalent DDR3-2000 RAM at 1700mhz
(2) GTX 295's in SLI Video
